HAPPY ST. NICHOLAS DAY----NOW START DECORATING FOR CHRISTMAS WITH DUTCH HERITAGE FUN STUFF

On this St. Nicholas Day our deck is filling up with snow.  There are over 15" on the picnic table.  It is a good thing that St. Nicholas made his rounds last night.

When we went to see St. Nicholas at VanderVeen's in the Grand Rapids area on Saturday, I fell in love with the swags and wreaths for the holidays decorated with wooden shoes, Dutch lace, Delft ornaments and Dutch candy.  The decorations are wonderful for St. Nicholas Day, but are also a fantastic way to show off your heritage for the Christmas season.

Vander Veen's, The Dutch Store, 28th St. Grand Rapids area, Michigan.

You can double-click on the picture to make it full screen size.  The swag is made with Dutch lace, tiny wooden shoes, and Sinterklaas ornaments.

The wreath gives a better view of the lace and other ornaments.  I just love the little shoes.

Tree with Delft oranments, Sinterklaas ornaments and lace.

I think this is such a cute little tree for a child's room or a kitchen.  It has Dutch candy hot glued to a 15-inch tree.  The white disks are Wilhelmina Peppermints, the blue are Babbelaars, and I am not sure what the red candies are; but the tree is red, white and blue.  The colors of the American and Dutch flags.

Now that the decorating is taken is done, it is time to start the baking!!!!
