Boterkoek or Butter cake is much like a Scotch shortbread only the Dutch variety is more moist.
You can tell the Boterkoeks are homemade as each one is different as each family has its own recipe.

Of course, this is one of my favorite treats. The Dutch celebrate the New Year with Oliebollen.
Served with powdered sugar makes them super good.

At one church's food booth, there were all kinds of homemade pies. You knew they were homemade and not purchased as the workers were slicing the pies right out of home-style pie pans.

Your blog about Dutch food is really awesome. Thanks for sharing your experiences with us. I like Danish cuisine food very much and i have tried many Dutch recipes which i got from youtube and many other website. I like visiting Danish restaurants in weekend.
