In the 1960's, I lived for two years in Marquette, Michigan which is on the shore of Lake Superior. One year I took my three children on the circle tour of the Lake. We camped in a tent and every night our water froze even though it was the middle of August. My youngest was a toddler. One night he crawled out of his sleeping bag. When I became aware he was moving around, he was getting cold. I put him back in his sleeping bag and after that he never crawled out of his bag. If he felt like crawling in the night, he went to the bottom of his bag.
I received this link a number of times in my email. I hope I am not violating any copyright regulations by sharing this on the blog. For anyone who has never seen Lake Superior, this slide-show is incredible. For people very familiar with Lake Superior, this slide show is incredible. Enjoy!!

HAPPY ST. PATRICK'S DAY----A IRISH-FRENCH SANDWICH FOR LEFT-OVER CORNED BEEF
In case you missed this wonderful sandwich last year, here is the link for you to find it this year. A French croissant filled with left-over corned beef, Swiss cheese and horseradish butter. Deliciously good!

AWESOME IRISH SODA BREAD, AUTHENTIC IRISH SCONES, OLD-FASHIONED CORNED BEEF, CABBAGE, CARROTS AND POTATOES
St. Patrick's Day is coming. I am repeating my recipes from last year as you may have missed them and they really are terrific. I haven't found any recipes for soda bread or scones that are better than these are. If you want to improve on the corned beef, you could simmer it in Irish beer instead of water. My family used water as I don't think my Grandma would have eaten meat cooked in beer although she did believe a little whisky and honey was the best thing for a sore throat or a cough.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO OUR YOUNGEST, FAVORITE GRANDSON
Tanner turns 8 years old. The week before his birthday, he said to his parents, "I am getting very concerned. My birthday is coming and I don't see you doing any shopping for my gifts!"
Riding the birthday saddle at his favorite restaurant while everyone applauded for him.
His birthday present from Grandma. I shopped at Christmas so I was prepared even with two new knees. His brother, Zach, will enjoy the legos as much as he will.
