In Holland, Mi, the place to get King Cake and Packzi is the Dutch Brothers deBoer Bakkerij.
deBoer's has fabulous breads too.
Packzi are Polish filled doughnuts made extra rich with eggs and cream with wonderful fillings. They are eaten to celebrate on Fat Tuesday before Lent and fasting start on Ash Wednesday.

ReplyDeleteLoved the Packzi in Hamtramck when I was growing up. The ones they call packzi at Wesco and Meijer are just NOT the same.
I had a "Berliner" from de Boer's yesterday. Berliner is another name for a filler doughnut. It was stuffed with raspberry filling. Fantastic. Do check them out if you get to Holland.
