CHRISTMAS TREES FROM SOUTH KOREA, NETHERLANDS, AND SWEDEN

The Korean tree is special because two of our Grand-children are from Korea.

Please remember to double-click on pictures to make the pictures screen-size.

Drums are so important in Korean culture.

Does anyone know where I can get a purse like this one?? One of my Grandchildren doesn't have one.

Little boy and his drum.

Tom took 161 pictures at the Meijer Gardens of the trees.  I took pictures too.  We do not have a full picture of the Dutch tree.  How could we miss our Dutch tree?  I guess that is a good reason to go back and enjoy the trees again.

Dutch shoes done in Delft china.

Wooden shoes, oranges and sweet treats adorn the tree.

Little Dutch girl with her buckets.

Ornament of a house like my Dad lived in when they lived in Amsterdam.

Beautiful straw ornaments as well as others.  I wrote a Christmas short story about a little donkey and straw ornaments which was published years ago in Wee Wisdom magazine.

Both the Denmark tree and Swedish tree feature their country flags on the trees.

His Mom's family is from Sweden.  Just like in Europe, the Dutch settled in this part of West Michigan and farther north the Swedish people settled.  Swedish people must like it colder than the Dutch.

I learned something new which always excites me.  In Sweden, a straw goat is used by the gift giver to deliver the Christmas gifts.  I didn't know that.  Can you see his straw beard?
