December 6th is the Feast Day for St. Nicholas. He is the Saint that was the inspiration for Santa Claus. It is the day in the Netherlands that families gather to exchange gifts and party.
At the Dutch Store in Grand Rapids, a large picture of St. Nicholas on the door announced that St. Nicholas is in the store to meet with the children.
Of course, in the Dutch Store there is plenty of beautiful Delft to chose from as a perfect gift.
Wooden shoes and Dutch ornaments are part of the decor and available for purchase.
There are lots of St. Nicholas decorations and other articles that are associated with the Netherlands.
Chocolate St. Nicholas are my favorite.
I know this is a terrible picture, I take them too often; however, these are great soccer balls in Dutch Orange.
St. Nicholas and his Piets are tired today after there gift giving trip with St. Nicholas' white horse.
Even adults like to meet with St. Nicholas.
I like the windmills on this tree.
A St. Nicholas Day kiss.
These night lights were new this year.
Piet leading St. Nicholas on his horse.
