HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY, GRAND-DAUGHTER

Our middle Grand-daughter spent her 4th birthday at her Aunt and Uncle's house in Grand Haven.  I made my Mom's Dutch Spaghetti, spaghetti pasta cooked all afternoon.  When my children were little and living in Missouri, they would forward to the trip to Michigan as they always knew Grandma would have her special spaghetti waiting for them.

We were all eating and enjoying the beautiful evening when our Grand-daughter asked if her Dad knew how to make Mom's Dutch Spaghetti.  I told her that I had written a book with all the family recipes and stories in it.  I said that her Dad had a copy so he has all the recipes.  She sat up straighter in her chair and in a very grown up 4 year old voice said, "I have to have a copy of that book!"  Oh, would that have made my Mom smile!!

Birthday Girl is in the center with her sister to her left and her cousin to her right.

Birthday Girl is 15 today!!!  Happy, happy birthday.  You go girl!!!  Make your dreams come true!!!

  1. Oh please share the spaghetti recipe! My grandmother used to make a baked spaghetti and I watched her make it 100 times but no one has the recipe and it's been lost. Your family is lucky to have all those recipes, my family would be so thrilled to have some we never took the time to learn or write down.

  2. Laurie, I will be happy to post my Mom's spaghetti, probably after Labor Day. Tom's family will be at their HIghland Park cottage this next week. Maybe we can meet there.

I love old recipes and will be posting many of them.
