PARADE OF NATIONS

We have two grandchildren who were born in another country.  I believe they were sent to us by Angels.  In Grand Rapids, MI, every year there is a camp for adopted children from other countries.  At the camp, the children learn about the culture of their birth country.  There was Korean camp, China camp, Eastern European and Latin American camps.  Next year Ethiopian camp will be added.  On Friday there is a Parade of Nations.  Most of the children dress in their native country's traditional clothes, sing songs from their culture and demostrate unique aspects of the country of their birth.  As proud grandparents we had to be there to see the parade.  Here are our pictures.

The flags of the countries included in the parade.

So many bright and beautiful Chinese girls.

China's loss is certainly our gain.

Eastern European countries.

Korea!

Korean traditional dress is a hanbok.

Hanboks are known for their vivid colors.

T-shirts are vivid too.

Lovely hanbok, fabulous smile.

Korean children singing for their part of the program.

At the end of the program all the countries flags are taken down and rolled up for next year's opening ceremony.  We are all enriched for having these wonderful children as part of the United States.
