THE DOGS ARE RUNNING THE ROCKET FISH OUT OF TOWN IN GRAND HAVEN, MICHIGAN

Izzy, the famous one ear up-one ear down Schoodle, keeps watch at the dog beach.  Her fur is shaved down to short, short, short to her get through the hot summer.

Last year Grand Haven had an infestion of Rocket Fish around town.  Check out the rocket fish on:

MICHIGAN COTTAGE COOK'S FIRST PICUTRE TAKING STROLL THROUGH arfWALK.

This year the city is having an "arfWalk."  There is a dog under all the ribbon and yarn.

My Grandson through he was hiding from the camera at our first dog.  I can't believe how big he is getting.  He starts junior high this year.

With a blue face on one side and a purple on the other side this is one of my favorite dogs.

Two colored-face even has a girlfriend.

There are even dogs under display tables.

This dog is painted to look like the "big blue marble" in space.   His collar is a Peace Sign.
There is Africa and Europe.

Peace on Earth.

My family thought they were safe from my camera, but I was able to snap a picture of the backs of all three of them.  This is a dog that is Loved.  He has a heart-shaped nose ending in a smile.  His coat is well groomed.

This is a dog that is Lost.  His fur is matted and tangled.  His nose is an unhappy, upside down smile.

Loved has a collar and ID.

Lost is on his own.

Happy dog under a happy sun.  He has a collar and tag.  He has a nice house.  He lives outside his doctor's office.
WATCH FOR THE SECOND arfWALK LATER THIS WEEK.

GRAND HAVEN SAND CASTLE CONTEST 2012

WHAT A BEAUTIFUL DAY IN WESTERN MICHIGAN AT THE GRAND HAVEN STATE PARK.

Welcome to the 31st. annual Sand Sculpture Contest.  The contestants have just two hours to begin and finish their projects.

Only simple tools are allowed for sculpting.

The green bottle to the left is a mister to keep the sculpture from drying out.

The straw was for the making a checkered tablecloth in one sculpture.  Otherwise the equipment looks like what I would drag to the beach for my children and grandchildren though out shovels were smaller.

This is the kind of "castles" Margaret and I use to built.  My children and grandchildren built the same kind.  A moat for water with walls to protect the castle made of sand packed into a sand pail to mold it for the castle.  There is always a hole where it is fun to dig for water under the beach.

A harbor with sailboats.

Madagascar with the lion and penguins.

Sponge Bob.

Pure Grand Haven.

Mama turtles with her babies.

A Mayan temple.

Pac-man.

Pac-man #2.

Hot dog and fries.

Beautiful sign for Grand Haven with mermaid tails for people to stand behind to have their pictures taken.

Kids posing for their parents as mermaids.

Margaret and I would spend hours making trees or castles like this one by pouring wet sand and water through our fingers.

A boat being rowed through a group of mermaids.

COUCH POTATO.

King Tut's tomb.

Remember this was built in just two hours.

I am awed by the details.

I heart Grand Haven had audio as well as a sculpter with the sculpters beating buckets to sound like a heart beat.

The heart.

This one had a name but I didn't recognize it.

Dogs digging in the sand.

Dogs #2.  You know I love dogs.

Tent camping with the fire pit ready for a match.

I think they need a larger tent.

You are so cute, Dragon.  I just wanted to take Dragon home to play with Izzy.

I'm sorry Dragon.  I cut off your nose to show your foot.

I like Dragons.

I take lots of pictures of "animals".

A gaint squid with a person in it's tenticle with friends trying to save him.

This is the size of an ice cream cone I would like.

A picnic basket, tablecloth, watermelon, grapes, sandwich, and drink.

An ant eating the watermelon.

Ants all over this picnic.

Beautiful details on the picnic basket.

Grapes look good enough to eat.

A busy ant.

Oh, oh!  Spilled your drink.  I guess the party is over.
